I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, having received a Master of Professional Counseling degree from Oral Roberts University.
I am passionate about helping couples and families gain skills that improve connection, communication, and understanding, as well as helping families extract themselves from unhealthy patterns of interaction. I am Level 2 trained in Gottman Method Couple Therapy and I have received additional training from the Gottman Institute in treating affairs and trauma as well as couple therapy within the context of addiction recovery. I am also currently pursuing training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT).
As an EMDR trained clinician, I believe a trauma-informed approach makes it possible to get to the root of unhealthy beliefs about oneself, as well as reprocess traumatic events and memories. I love working with individuals as well as families, and it is an honor to provide a safe space for healing and growth.
Having received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Oklahoma State University in 1999 and a Master of Music Performance degree from Oklahoma City University in 2001, I spent over two decades working in the performing arts. This experience has given me unique insight into performance anxiety, perfectionism, and shame. I love helping clients get to the root of the issues that cause distress in their lives.
Most importantly, I believe in the power of empathy, vulnerability, and humor. It is a sacred privilege to bear witness to the lived experiences of my clients.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost 17 years and we have three children who keep us very busy!

My approach to therapy depends on the individual needs of my clients; you and I will create a treatment plan that addresses your unique concerns and challenges. I utilize interventions from multiple attachment focused and trauma-informed modalities, including EMDR, Ego-State Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. When working with couples and families, I utilize the Gottman Method as a general framework, while incorporating Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques as well as attending to individual trauma and attachment wounds.
I am out-of-network, meaning I do not accept insurance. This allows me to protect your privacy, as insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis to cover treatment and are able to audit client charts at any time. Many of my clients are seeking therapy for relational issues and a mental health diagnosis is not always appropriate. There are some instances, however, where a diagnosis can provide answers, relief, and a clear path forward in treatment planning. If you would like to utilize insurance coverage, I can provide a "superbill" receipt that you can submit to your insurance carrier. I cannot guarantee reimbursement, so please contact your insurance company to determine benefits for mental health services.
I am happy to integrate my clients' faith practices into treatment planning when requested. As far as how my personal faith impacts my practice, please know that every person who walks into my office is precious and valuable, worthy of being seen, known, and loved.
